Though none go with me, I will still go.
For the past two weeks, the words have been replaying in my mind. The words define where I am in my faith walk.
My heart is decided.
I walk this journey of life with God alone.
Even when the direction seems unconventional or does not make sense to my finite mind, I will go.
I will walk in faith.
I will not lean on my own understanding, but on Truth alone.
Though I will seek wisdom and consider godly counsel, I will follow God alone.
I will seek only the validation and affirmation of God.
My heart is willing.
I will stand in my watchtower with great expectation.
I will be still and listen for the still small Voice.
I will confidently take the next right step, even if it is out of my comfort zone.
As I thumbed through the pages of a recent thrift store find, a 1940 hymnal, I discovered these powerful chorus lyrics from Jesus, I’ll Follow Thee Through:
Jesus I’ll follow, I’ll follow Thee,
Tho’ my companions and friends may be few,
Help me to pray Lord and stay in the way Lord,
I am determined to follow Thee through.
So…
Jesus, I am determined to follow Thee through.
Though none go with me, I will still go.
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7
Yes. This....So much of what I'm studying right now in 2 Cor. You and I have such similar callings on our lives. I was just sharing with a friend that even when our circumstances change, our calling has not. Often we have to forgo how we feel, get out of our comfort zones and walk it out. Our roads will never be the same as another and to compare ourselves to others is nothing other than a mere distraction. I love the old hymnal.... AND, we still need to do our garage sale/thrift store run.
