Good Friday

^ Easter sunrise in April 1979, Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

In the lower left of the photo above, in the darkness, there is the faint outline of the Cross: the heaviness of Good Friday.

Today, I reflect on the suffering my Savior endured on the cross for my sins. I can't imagine Jesus' physical pain. Even more, I can't comprehend that He loved me (us) so much that He was willing to suffer and die so that one day I would be counted as His redeemed.

I considered waiting to post this beautiful sunrise photo, taken long ago on an Easter Sunday morning, but I just couldn't wait! The news is just too good to share! Spoiler alert: as the photo captures, darkness has no power over the LIGHT!

Every day of my life, as a follower of Christ, is Christmas Day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. I celebrate His coming to the earth as fully man and fully God; I reflect on His sacrifice on the cross for me, a sinner saved by His grace; and I rejoice at His resurrection, where He defeated death!

If you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I pray that today, Good Friday 2021, will be the day you meet Him and choose to follow Him. It is a decision you will never regret. I will be honored to introduce you to my Jesus: message me or email me at 7sycamorelane@gmail.com.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. ~ John 3:16

But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on Him, and we are healed by His wounds. ~ Isaiah 53:5
